Orioles Top Red Sox, 3-1
|
Fenway Park was the site of a tense game between the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles.
Juan Baca pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Boston Red Sox, despite Baca's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park. Mike Stuckey picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-1. Juan Baca was tagged with the loss.
The result might have been different for Baltimore, had it not been for Juan Ramos, the 25-year old left fielder . Ramos stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Baltimore up, 2-0. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Ramos told the Baltimore Daily.
The Orioles raised their record to 46-34.
