|
The timely hitting of Ismael Flores helped the Minnesota Twins down the San Francisco Giants, 11-4. Flores was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Twins. Juan Nolasco went 6.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits. The right-hander, who leads the AL in strikeouts with 208, struck out 12 and walked 2. With the win, he's now 9-5 this season. With the win, Minnesota raised its record to 53-51.
With Minnesota leading 3-2 in the top of the fourth, Flores hit a changeup from Juan Ramirez for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Twins ahead, 5-2.
