Nichols Helps Isotopes Win, 10-6, with Pair of Homers
Getting a good performance from designated hitter Jamie Nichols, the Albuquerque Isotopes defeated the El Paso Chihuahuas, 10-6. Nichols hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Isotopes. Albuquerque reliever Josh Carduff picked up the win to move to 1-1. Luis Barba suffered the loss. With the win, Albuquerque upped its record to 49-44.

Nichols had an important at-bat with the bases empty in the top of the sixth, when he hit a solo home run. The Isotopes went on to win.

"I was able to square up some pitches," said Nichols.
