In a low-scoring tilt between the Clinton LumberKings and the Burlington Bees, 21-year old right-handed pitcher Rob Gholston was the difference-maker. The Clinton right-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. The loss makes Burlington 4-7.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Clinton. That's when former first round draft pick Mike Gibson hit a solo home run off Tommy Napier to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"We had a hellacious effort," said LumberKings manager Enyelbert Soto. "We hung in there and hung in there."
