River Bandits Top Chiefs in Extras, 4-3
|
The Quad Cities River Bandits faced a tenacious opponent in Peoria pitcher Robbie Boon, but still scratched out a win at Dozer Park by a final score of 4-3 in 16 innings. Boon went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The third-place River Bandits now have a record of 40-27.
Chris Musselwhite delivered a big hit for Quad Cities. The designated hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the 16th inning to put the River Bandits ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"I'll play 10 innings, I'll play 20," said River Bandits manager Sean West. "Whatever it takes to win the ballgame."
