Timber Rattlers Reel-In 2-0 Win Over River Bandits
|
Josh Whittle pitched a gem to lead Wisconsin to victory over the Quad Cities River Bandits, 2-0. The winning pitcher was Whittle, now 8-4. He tossed 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Jimmy Story, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 14th save.
Wisconsin won the game in part because of Glaucio Rotham. The designated hitter ripped a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Timber Rattlers ahead, 2-0. For the game, Rotham had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Wins don't come easy," Rotham told the Wisconsin Daily News. "They don't just hand them out like lollipops."
Wisconsin is in 5th place in the Western Division with a record of 48-63.
