5-1 Win Gets Fort Wayne to 101-21
|
Fort Wayne put its winning streak on the line.
The Fort Wayne TinCaps beat the Dayton Dragons, 5-1. Fort Wayne pitcher and Huntsville, Alabama, native Mike Lehmann led the way. Now 101-21, the TinCaps have won 11 games in a row.
It could have been a different outcome for Fort Wayne, had it not been for Jimmy Jesse, the 22-year old third baseman . Jesse contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put Fort Wayne up, 3-1.
"I like to lead by example," said Jesse. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
