Lascano Tosses 2-0 Shutout
|
It wasn't easy but the Houston (DSL) Astros made it look that way.
Starter Mario Lascano shut out the St. Louis (DSL) Cardinals despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Houston (DSL) Astros cruised to victory, 2-0. Lascano allowed only 2 hits and rang up 4 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
This year, Lascano has a 1-4 record with a 4.82 ERA.
