Padres Hammered by Keyzer, Drop Game 3 to Rockies
|
Already down in the League Championship Series, the Colorado Rockies put on their best show, beating the San Diego Padres by a final score of 8-7 today. Mark Keyzer was special. He was 5 for 8 with a home run, a double, 3 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs. Colorado now trails San Diego 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Colorado needed the clutch hitting of Edgar Nunez to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the 17th inning to put the Rockies on top, 8-7. For the game, Nunez had 1 home run and 1 single in 8 at-bats.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Keyzer.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Petco Park in San Diego.
