Dominant Performance by Castro in Houston Win
|
New York (A) had no answer for Houston Astros starter Bobby Castro, who flummoxed Yankees hitters as the Astros cruised to victory, 7-1. The Astros move to 49-48 with the win, while the Yankees drop to 52-44.
Castro, a native of Westminster, Massachusetts, was dealing all game. He kept New York (A) hitters off-balance, while giving the Astros 7.1 quality innings. Castro threw 106 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 7.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Castro. "Successful pitchers do it."
