Cardinals Fall, 8-5, to Carter, Pirates
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates knocked off the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-5, at PNC Park. Nick Carter was a big reason Pittsburgh won. The first baseman was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Pirates win now puts them at 51-56.
Garrett Irby helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 1-0, Pirates.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Pittsburgh manager Javy Ha.
