Phillies Win, 6-4
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants.
The Philadelphia Phillies weathered an outstanding game by San Francisco left fielder Josh Walda to topple the Giants, 6-4. Walda was 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jayden Maynor earned his 16th save, after closing out the game.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Justin Schaffer? The Philadelphia third baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Phillies on top, 6-4. For the game, Schaffer had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Schaffer told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
The Giants, now 67-70, have lost 4 in a row.
