Nationals Eric Turner to Miss Year
Saturday, July 29th , 2051
The doctors have spoken and Eric Turner of the Washington Nationals didn't like what he heard. The 30-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Turner sustained his season-ending injury during the New York (N) Mets game yesterday at Citi Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Washington medical staff reported Turner had shoulder inflammation and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5 months.

This year, Turner has posted a record of 9 wins and 7 losses with a 3.60 ERA. He has appeared in 21 games and struck out 102 in 110 innings.
