Duke Propels Toronto to 5-1 Win
|
Chris Duke was superb against Atlanta. The right-hander, who is on pace to win 20 games this season, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Blue Jays victory. The score was 5-1. Jonathan Nickle recorded the save for Toronto, his 18th of the season. With the win, the Blue Jays have a record of 88-56.
It was a remarkable effort from Duke, who is one of the team leaders. Duke recorded 10 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing 3 hits. Duke, who is on pace to win 20 games this season, moves to 18-7 on the year with 169 strikeouts.
"From the first pitch, Chris was ready to rock and roll," said Toronto manager Ryan Stewart.
