Twins Lose to Detroit, 5-1
|
Detroit and Minnesota got after it at Comerica Park.
The Detroit Tigers converted a terrific effort from starter Shamar Stepter into a win over the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park. The Tigers won the game by a final score of 5-1. With the win, Detroit elevates its record to 8-5.
One pivotal at-bat came in the top of the fifth with one out. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Twins trailing 3-0, Shamar Stepter needed to make a quality pitch. He threw a first pitch cutter to retire Joe Haught, who hit into a double play.
