Sunnyvale HS Snaps Nichols Streak at 21 Tuesday, March 6th , 2046 Jared Nichols saw his 21-game hitting streak wither and die during the Pomona HS Riptide win over Sunnyvale HS at Pomona HS Fields. The 16-year-old center fielder was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Sunnyvale HS Terriers, but his teammates produced enough offense to win the game, 4-3. "Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Nichols told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 21 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good." Nichols is hitting .345 so far this season with 19 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 41 hits including 2 home runs, 6 walks and .386 OBP. |
