Burciu Hits in 20 Consecutive Games Tuesday, May 8th , 2046 Ion Burciu collected 1 hit in today's game and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. His club, the Wilmington Blue Rocks, beat the Winston-Salem Dash, 5-1. "Right now, when they throw me the ball, it looks the size of a softball," Burciu quipped to a BNN reporter after the game. "I'm excited about how things are clicking." Ion Burciu struck out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and struck out in the 9th. So far this season, Burciu has recorded a .405 batting average with 45 hits, 2 home runs, 17 RBIs, 12 runs scored and a .456 OBP. |
