Gold Paste 7-0 Loss on Pearls
|
Johannesburg starter António Rivera kept the Tokyo offense from doing much damage. The left-hander leaned on his fastball in leading the Gold to a 7-0 win. Rivera yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 8-4. Eisa Jibril notched his 1st save of the season.
Johannesburg center fielder Jamal bin Majd delivered a 2-run home run in the top of the third. Overall, he went 4 for 5, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 2 doubles. He scored 1 run and knocked in 2.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Johannesburg skipper Abdul-Matin bin Nazeeh.
Johannesburg now sports a record of 72-86.
