Skipper Chávez Shown the Door in Edmonton
Saturday, November 16th , 2058
Edmonton is now without a skipper after the announcement of manager Alonso Chávez's firing earlier today.
Sources close to the Jackrabbits are saying that Chávez had lost the confidence of the players and had allowed apathy and selfishness to take over the clubhouse.
The Edmonton front office was unavailable for comment on the matter other than to confirm the manager's firing.
A BNN poll done immediately after the announcement went public showed fan reaction seems mixed.
"Glad that bum is gone," said one disgruntled fan. Several others were displeased with the decision, telling reporters, "Chávez did the best he could with the talent and money he had."
No timetable has been set by the team for announcing a replacement.
