Checkers Move on to Round 2 Sunday, February 23rd , 2059 The Koror Checkers out-dueled and outgunned the Honiara Islanders in the Round 1 and are on to the next round. Koror won the final game 7-6 at Petah_ Tiqwa HS Grounds and the series 4-2. Lukela Arnurna was named series MVP for a strong offensive performance during the Round 1. He had a .368 average with a .586 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 10 RBI and scored 9 runs. "I was seeing the ball well and glad to help my team out and get us to the Round 2," he said. The Koror Checkers will play against the Perth Galaxy in the next round.
