Edo-Khel Batters Bombay College Big Time
Thursday, April 24th , 2059
A jubilant Babar Edo-Khel joined the postgame press conference at Angel Stadium of Anaheim to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Bombay College Angels pitching staff he had just vanquished.
"It may not have looked like it," said the Faisalabad College Tarpons first baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."
That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led to the 15-4 Tarpons win.
"He made it look easy," said Lutfi Ögûtmen, manager of the Angels. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."
Babar Edo-Khel singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Krishnamachari Sangawar in the 8th.
Edo-Khel is batting .349 with 28 home runs and 61 RBIs this season.
