Labid Goes Downtown 3 Times Against Polar Bears Friday, April 25th , 2059 Madras College first baseman Ali Labid blasted three homers at Singapore College Stadium in the 18-7 Salmon Kings victory over the Singapore College Polar Bears. For the game, Ali Labid scored 4 times and knocked in 7 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant Labid when he reached home plate. "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 4-for-6, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful Labid told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day." Ali Labid hit a solo-shot off Fu Zeng in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. For the season, Labid is hitting .293, batted in 39 runs with 17 home runs and 49 runs scored. |
