CBA’s Opening Day is Here!

Today marks a very important date in not only our history here at the CBA, but for America in general. After what seems like a decade since we started purchasing teams and player contracts, the 30 teams of the CBA are scheduled to start playing actual games today.

Even as commissioner of the league, I always found it hard to believe that today could possibly come to fruition. The odds were always stacked against us in whichever step of the process we were trying to solve. We ran into hurdles everywhere we turned, from player agents refusing us the top talents in the world, to old Major League Baseball owners trying to sink us before we even left shore. But today, we’ll show the nation that we’ve prevailed.

Our league might not set records for Opening Day attendance for professional baseball, but I can guarantee there’s never been an Opening Day with a sense of renewal and hope as this one will have. Our fantastic owners, GMs and coaches have been busting their asses since the beginning to help us fulfill our goal of making the Championship Baseball Association the professional baseball league America deserves, but has never had. The future is bright, and its ours for the taking.

I’m writing this from New York City, where the Roar are about to take on the Cincinnati Royals. There’s so much baseball history in both of these cities – from the fantastic Yankees teams throughout the years in New York, to the first professional baseball team ever formed in the Cincinnati Reds. It’s hard to believe both of those institutions are gone. The two teams about to face off in this inaugural game have huge shoes to fill in their respective cities. It’s not going to be an overnight process, and it likely won’t be something we can observe with the naked eye. But I can promise you, one day these two teams, and the 28 other teams in the CBA, will be the pride of their cities.

With that, get your peanuts and cracker jacks ready, ladies and gentlemen. It’s time to PLAY BALL!
