2026 Trade Deadline – Buyers and Sellers

The 2026 season is moving right along and tomorrow’s trade deadline could go a long way in determining teams that are promoted, relegated, or qualifiers for the postseason. So, with time running out to make a move this season, who should be buying, and who should be looking to sell? Will teams on this list make moves? Of course, it’s the CBA!

BUYERS

Cincinnati Royals

We know the Royals aren’t shy when it comes to making trades and with the Queen City club just a game out of a Tournament of Champions spot, look for Cincinnati to be active. Pitching is the likely place the Royals will add talent (Tim Keefer is also due back from injury soon) but the lineup could be improved as well. Cincinnati has gotten next to nothing from the catcher and third base position this season, and those could be a areas where they look to add before tomorrow.

Florida Giants

Florida has always been near the top of the CBA but they have never quite been able to break through in to the Dallas/Detroit stratosphere. Young phenom Chris Anderson has joined via loan and has already no hit the Motors in his short time in the Sunshine State. Another starting pitcher might help and depending on how recent draft pick Kevin Pahayahay does, a bat may also be in the cards.

Atlanta Swarm

Atlanta has done well in each of its Silver League seasons but has yet to make the jump to the Premier League. 2026 could be the Swarm’s year as they currently sit just a game and a half behind Denver for a promotion playoff spot. Ace Mike Quinn is back from injury but Atlanta could still use another arm. The Swarm are another team that could use a boost at catcher.

Mexico City Chupacabras

Mexico City is very similar to Atlanta, they’re even tied in the standings, as they look to make the jump from the Silver League. Another bat or a solid utility guy could prove to be the piece that gets the Chupacabras to the top league.

Iowa Predators

The Predators seem to come in to every season among the favorites in the Bronze League but they are still waiting for their first promotion to the Silver League. Sitting just a half game out of first, Iowa was dealt a blow when Heri Ortega went down with an injury. Another pitcher could help, as well as an outfield bat.

SELLERS

Portland Axemen

Portland came in to this season with hopes of competing in the Premier League but those dreams are long gone. The Axemen are the oldest team in the league and it’s time to get younger. Veteran arms Neil Kack and Brad Limbach should have their real estate agent on speed dial and Timothee Brandi and Antonio Ramirez may want to start washing some clothes to pack in suitcases.

Austin Outlaws

The Outlaws have some nice young pieces in the major leagues but a drop to the Bronze League, while acquiring some more talent, may be good for them in the long run. Leo Lopez and Jose Curiel look to have some still left in their tanks and could help a team in need of pitching.

Salt Lake City Snappers

Like Austin, the Snappers have some good young talent but with the team currently 10 games away from safety, it looks to be time to sell. Starters Adrian Owens and Ron Pettit along with relievers Josh Duncan and Justin Turbeville will be at the top of teams’ shopping lists. Andy Rodriguez may also be a potential player on the move.

Boston Rogers

Boston has sold off some pieces but as they continue to slide down the standings, it could be time for the Rogers to enter a full rebuild. Starting Ben Shaffer could be a valuable asset to flip and catchers David Achterberg and Ryan Larson could help teams looking for help behind the plate.

Great Lakes Monsters

The Monsters have an average age of nearly 32, the second oldest team in the CBA and OSA is not a huge fan of their minor league system. Solution, sell. Edgar Lugo could be a helpful lefty in the bullpen and veteran bats Danny Pinger and Carlos Villeda have showed no signs of slowing down and could bring Great Lakes a nice return in a trade.
