Reapers Hammered by Martin, Drop Game 1 to Mythics
|
The Toronto Mythics took the first game of the Quarterfinal in dramatic fashion, topping the Carolina Reapers, 8-7, in an extra-inning walk-off win. Mythics left fielder Noah Martin was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3.
Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, fan favorite Bobby Thompson had a chance to be the hero. Carolina pitcher Ryan Davis wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Thompson hit a sacrifice fly. The Mythics had themselves a thrilling win.
"We got the victory," said Martin. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Six in Toronto.
