Las Vegas Gets 5-1 Win
|
Las Vegas got a strong outing from Juan Vargas as the Lightning defeated the Orlando Orcas, 5-1, at Orca Park. Mark Krueger got the save, the 1st for him this season. Orlando drops to 1-1.
Las Vegas used the clutch hitting of Javier de la Rosa to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Lightning ahead, 5-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Juan is still learning," said Lightning manager Austin V. "The sky's the limit for him."
