Chupacabras Come Back Late to Top Sun Dogs, 5-3
The Mexico City Chupacabras topped the Phoenix Sun Dogs, 5-3, with youngster Rafael Montilla playing a key role. Montilla went 2-3 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Chupacabras in the win. The winner was Veit Gassinger in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Andrew Wallace took the loss. Greg Graves got credit for the save for Mexico City. It was his 2nd of the year.

Montilla had a timely hit for Mexico City in the top of the eighth. With Phoenix trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-0 cutter into a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season, making it 4-3, Mexico City.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Mexico City manager Dustyn Richardson.

Phoenix falls to 2-4.
