The home crowd had a good time watching the Minnesota Freeze and New York Empire get after it.
The New York Empire beat the Minnesota Freeze by a score of 5-2. New York center fielder Frantz Tiel deserved the lion's share of the credit. Tiel was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Empire. New York reliever Kanbu Yoshimura picked up the win, upping his record to 2-5. Carlos Uso was saddled with the loss.
In the bottom of the second, New York shortstop Riso Kiesl had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Kiesl stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 2-0, New York. For the game, he went 1 for 3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I felt good up there," said Tiel. "I saw the ball well."
