Mota Lays Hammer Down in 4-1 Win
|
Chicago used a superb performance from starting pitcher Ramon Mota to down the Cincinnati Kings, 4-1. Rupert Maher was credited with the save, his 34th in 39 tries. The Silver League-leading Gale are 78-40.
Mota, a native of Detroit, Michigan, was dealing all game. He kept Cincinnati hitters off-balance, while giving the Gale 8.1 quality innings. Mota threw 134 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 10.
"I thought we played a nice game," Mota told the Chicago Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
