The San Diego Fleet picked up a win at Stone Brewing Park, knocking off the Tampa Bay Palms, 6-4. On the mound for San Diego was left-hander Daniel Simone, who played a pivotal role in the win. Simone got the win, improving to 10-10. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Simone allowed 4 runs. Today's win puts San Diego at 56-67, while Tampa Bay falls to 53-70.
The Fleet got a big at-bat from left fielder Steve Froyd. For the game, Froyd went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave San Diego a 3-0 lead.
