Boston and DC duked it out and the Shoremen came out victorious.

The performance of Manuel Echegoyen proved critical in helping Boston beat DC, 5-2. The Shoremen shortstop went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Alex Martinez earned the win for Boston. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 5-5. David Mora converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.

Boston took a 4-2 lead on Echegoyen's 7th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which he hit off Kyle Buchanan in the top of the seventh, propelled Boston to the win.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Echegoyen.

With the win, Boston upped its record to 37-35.
