The Atlanta Swarm faced a tough opponent in Mexico City pitcher Bobby Martin, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Panera Park by a final score of 3-2. Martin went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The win gives the Swarm a record of 31-59.
Tom Rae was the walk-off hero for Atlanta. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Swarm third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This was a tough loss," said Mexico City manager Dustyn Richardson. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
