Wolves Top Orlando, 6-5
|
The Denver Wolves overcame a good performance by Orlando catcher Chris DeAngelo to knock off Orlando, 6-5, at Orca Park. DeAngelo went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Tom Jamieson in relief. His record improves to 9-4. Brian Harper took the loss. Bruce Pugh was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 6 save opportunities.
Freddie Kenner, the 27-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Kenner contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Denver up, 2-0.
"We'll savor this win," Kenner told the Denver Bulletin, "then get ready for the next game."
With the win, Denver raised its record to 62-27.
