Las Vegas beat Vancouver on the strength of starter Eric Gilroy's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Gilroy, now 10-7. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 11. Chris Henderson notched his 13th save in 18 chances.

The Lightning got a big at-bat from left fielder Kyle Brisch. For the game, Brisch went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Las Vegas a 3-0 lead.

"We take it day by day here," said Gilroy, "and today was a good one for us."

Las Vegas now sits in 7th place in the Bronze League at 61-65.
