The Great Lakes Monsters topped the Oklahoma Mammoths, 5-0, in Silver League action at Smucker's Yard. The player of the game was Great Lakes pitcher and Castroville, California native Adam Hoeman. Great Lakes goes to 8-2 with the win.
The game could have flipped with two out in the top of the fifth. But Adam Hoeman made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With runners on 1st and 3rd and Oklahoma trailing 1-0, Hoeman threw a cutter to Chris Ross and Ross grounded out.
