Thunderbirds Get Road Win, 8-3
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Craig Sherer, the Arizona Thunderbirds defeated the Miami Warriors, 8-3. Sherer went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Thunderbirds. Arizona reliever Dana Lane picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Mario Valdez absorbed the loss. The Warriors fall to 3-7 and continue their uneasy start to the 2037 season.
It could have been a different outcome for Arizona, had it not been for Drew Fesko, the slugging first baseman . Fesko contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Arizona up, 6-1.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Fesko told the Arizona Daily News.
