|
The Boston Rogers defeated the Great Lakes Monsters, 5-4, in Silver League action at Smucker's Yard, with Boston pitcher Donald Hampton named player of the game. Boston reliever Moises Lopez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Rajmund Gazda was saddled with the loss. James Kramer recorded the save for Boston, his 1st of the season.
Late-game drama came in the top of the 14th inning. With one out and a runner on 2nd, the batter, Rick Merwin, hit a single. It helped Boston seize the win.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Alexander Romero, the Boston skipper.
At 18-26, Boston is in 8th place in the Silver League.
