The Carolina Coyotes topped the Wichita Weasels, 11-3, with center fielder Jamie Andrews playing a big role. Andrews was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Coyotes in the win. Carolina reliever Chris Varela was the winner. His record is now 7-0. Manny Shackelford took the loss. The last-place Weasels have dropped 5 straight games.

Carolina used the timely hitting of Jason Kennedy to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Coyotes on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"There's still time to turn this season around," said Kennedy.
