3 Bombs for Tony Willis
Tuesday, June 11th , 2052
Rancho Cucamonga third baseman Tony Willis led the Quakes to a triumph, 9-6, over the Lancaster JetHawks, crushing three home runs.
"He's scary good when he's swinging the bat like that," said Rancho Cucamonga skipper Alfredo Gonzáles.
Indeed, Willis put up some "scary good" numbers: three homers, 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 3 runs and 6 RBIs.
"I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames," Willis said. "When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em."
Tony Willis hit a GRAND SLAM off Raúl Gómez in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Mike Wilson in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Juan Avilés in the 7th and struck out in the 8th.
Posting a .293 batting average to date, Willis has 9 home runs and 17 RBIs.
