Murphy Wins Award for SL1 Dominance
Thursday, June 13th , 2052
At the age of 18, Ty Murphy says he still has a lot to learn about life in CLB College.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Seattle College Night Hawks reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2052 Conference 1 Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Lake Stevens, Washington native said.
For the season, Murphy had 14 saves in 17 relief appearances, which totaled 16.1. He fanned 14 betters, while walking 8 and put up a record of 1-0 to go with his 1.65 ERA.
He received 23 first place votes out of a possible 40. Chet Jackson of the Philadelphia College Rays finished second in voting with 9 first place votes, while Leo Gimlett of the Arlington College Barons finished third with 5 first place votes.
