Heat End Curran Streak Sunday, April 14th , 2052 It was a doubly miserable day for Tim Curran of the Los Angeles College 76ers, as he saw his 25-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 8-5, to the Columbus College Heat at Ballpark of Los Angeles College. The 18-year-old left fielder was held hitless in 5 at-bats by the Heat. "Anyone on a 25-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Columbus College manager James Ramsay said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." This season, Curran has 13 home runs and a .447 batting average. |
