Liberators Drop 3-2 Decision to Cool Runners
|
Starting pitcher Todd Farley had a solid game. He was a big reason the Kingston Cool Runners throttled the Lima Liberators, 3-2. Farley went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 9-7. Alfonso Pinherio got the save, his 36th in 40 chances.
Robbie Fowler had a big 2-run double for the Cool Runners in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Kingston leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Naofumi Sato and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cool Runners ahead, 3-0.
"Good win for our guys," said Fowler.
Kingston now sits in second place in the Western Hemisphere Central/South America at 73-57.
