Herron Handcuffs Braves, Reds Seize 1-0 Advantage in DS
|
The Division Series got off to a quiet start today, with the host Cincinnati Reds taking a low-scoring 1-0 win over the Atlanta Braves. Cincinnati right-hander R.J. Herron was marvelous at Great American Ball Park. The Reds now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.
Herron, the Cincinnati right-hander, went 7 innings, allowing no runs on 4 hits. He collected 12 strikeouts.
"We're happy," Herron told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow. Slated to start are Ian Anderson for Atlanta and Greg Wanous for Cincinnati.
