Dodgers Hammered by Velasquez, Drop Game 1 to Reds
The Cincinnati Reds started the League Championship Series in style today, winning on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium by a score of 6-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Reds center fielder Willie Velasquez excelled. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

Cincinnati relied on the hitting of Carlos Paraguate to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Reds on top, 5-3. For the game, Paraguate had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Velasquez.

Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are Shane Baz for Cincinnati and Dustin May for Los Angeles.
