Reds Hammered by Lux, Drop Game 5 to Dodgers
The Los Angeles Dodgers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Cincinnati Reds, winning 8-4 at Great American Ball Park today. Dodgers second baseman Gavin Lux hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The win cuts the deficit facing the Dodgers to 3-2 in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

It could have been a different outcome for Los Angeles, had it not been for Yusniel Diaz, the 30-year old left fielder . Diaz contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Los Angeles up, 6-4.

"Every team in baseball loses," Reds manager Chris Kobeck said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

Game 6 is set to be played Friday, October 16th, 2026 in Los Angeles. The scheduled starters for the game are Shane Baz for the Cincinnati Reds and Dustin May for the the Los Angeles Dodgers.
