Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Stars
El Paso got a big-time effort from pitcher Carl Coffey, but it wasn't enough to keep the Virginia Beach Stars from winning the game, 3-2. Coffey threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Pedro Estrada, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 32nd save. Virginia Beach currently is in second place in the Moonlight Graham League John Kinsella Division at 65-36.

Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Herberto Larco's at-bat with two out in the top of the ninth was crucial. The Virginia Beach second baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 3-2 lead.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Larco.
