Pitcher Michael Pierce was sensational for the Potomac Double O's in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Washington Eagles. Pierce picked up the win, and it was well-earned. With the victory, the Double O's upped their record to 72-57.

Potomac used the bat of Anastasio Bruno to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Double O's ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Pierce said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
