Aces Go Down to Defeat, 2-1
|
Virginia Beach Stars starter Ben Pierson was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Austin Aces, 2-1. The first-place Stars now have a win-loss record of 98-58.
Álex Chávez hit a 2-run triple off Augusto Rodríguez in the bottom of the third, which put the Stars in front, 2-0. Chávez had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Austin manager Fletcher Conner. "Obviously."
