Mutiny Deal Spinners 6-5 Loss
|
The Miami Mutiny topped the Greenville Spinners, 6-5, at West End Field. Miami first baseman Jesús Toro banged out 3 singles and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. Bartolo Durán came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 4-3. The win puts Miami at 95-61 this season.
Miami used the clutch hitting of Lee Manning to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to give the Mutiny the lead, 6-5. For the game, Manning had 1 single and 2 doubles in 6 at-bats.
"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Geoff Matt.
