Washington picked up a win at Oceanview Park, bumping off the Virginia Beach Stars, 4-2. Pitcher Doug Jackson was a major reason the Eagles emerged victorious. Francisco López came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 7-4. Washington is now 93-68, Virginia Beach 99-62.

Washington needed the clutch hitting of José Pérez to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Eagles on top, 4-2. For the game, Pérez had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
